I purchased the Thesis WordPress theme for work, as we are in the process of migrating from a Flash website with a Drupal content management system to WordPress.
In a word, WOW!
Now I know that a lot of programmers can’t say enough about the awesomeness of Drupal, and I understand that it does a great job for them… My problem with Drupal has been that the interface and the knowledge base has not been very accessible to me, as a layperson.
I could never get into it enough to really get it.
Enter Thesis
I loaded up Thesis on hallicious to give me a head start of understanding some basic customization areas within the theme. Side note, you can upload two separate instances of Thesis with the purchase of a single license. Score! There is so much that you can do with this theme, it’s amazing. I’ve leaned heavily on the vast amount of shared knowledge located within the official message board, as well as the handful of bloggers typing about customization on the world wide web.
And I haven’t scratched the surface.
The Thesis message board is loaded with helpful people and a boatload of customization information, making it a breeze to take your new site from stock to sweet in no time flat. I’ve spent the weekend learning, copying and pasting, uploading and saving… and although my site is not where it will ultimately be, I’m very happy with the results after about a solid day of tweaks.
Long story short: I’m lovin’ it, like McDonalds…
