Although I’ve never been trained as a designer and I’ve never been called a designer, I’ve always appreciated good design. Over the last decade I have discovered that I am really in to efficiency. Whether it is through on-line automation, process improvement or what have you, I seem to enjoy arranging ways to maximize efficiency.
Things need to be designed to be efficient, so maybe that’s where the connection to design lies for me.
In any case, design has been a subject of debate at work as we have gone back and forth on a new look for our web presence for some time. We also have a need for design around web tools that we are creating and releasing to the public. And finally, it turns out that there are going to be a lot of design aspects required for the idea that I have decided to move forward with on the side.
So What Do You Do?
Since I am interested in the subject matter and have a new found role in the design of certain entities on the internets, I have started to research good on-line design. And in that search, I have come across what I feel is a totally awesome resource, by Theresa Neil, that I have to share with everybody reading this post.
Enjoy.
